Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System (BioDynamic Breathwork & Trauma Release System®) BBTRS is a holistic approach to body-centred healing, breath, movement, sound, touch, expression of emotions and meditatsiooni, to release accumulated tension and trauma in the body.  

BBTRS on BBTRS has developed out of the therapeutic models of Wilhelm Reich and Peter Levine, focusing on releasing the tension trapped in the body and thought patterns.

BBTRS is based on the knowledge that trauma and stress are stored in our bodies. A BBTRS session focuses on deep connected breathing, which activates the sympathetic nervous system and helps the body release accumulated tension. Together with breathing, bodywork, touch and movement techniques are utilized to help unwind and redirect energy to areas of tension. Conscious expression of emotions and sound support deep emotional release, while meditation helps integrate the whole experience, supporting the body's natural healing capacity.

BBTRS is permitted in most cases, with certain exceptions. It is suitable for people who want to release stress and tension and improve their mental and physical well-being.

Inspired by Peter Levin and Wilhelm Reich's somatic approach to the traumatised nervous system, it is very difficult to underestimate the benefits of BBTRS in trauma work.

In which cases is BBTRS contraindicated?

BBTRS is not recommended in the following cases:

  • acute heart disease
  • pregnancy (first trimester or higher risk pregnancy). 
  • age under 16 years
  • high blood pressure
  • epilepsy
  • severe psychiatric disorders (e.g. schizophrenia)
  • recent surgery or trauma

Before taking a BBTRS session, it is important to discuss your medical condition with a professional supervisor to ensure that the method is suitable for your needs.

To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to conduct a 7-session cycle, with meetings ideally once a week.

Coming to the session: dress comfortably. The ideal clothing is something that allows your body to breathe and move freely (sports and yoga clothes).

Don't come to a session: if you have a cold, fever, runny nose or cough. In this case, the best thing you can do for yourself is to recover fully before coming to the session.
